Opportunity Riverside is an initiative to advance access to capital in Riverside County in an inclusive manner.
Riverside County is the 10th largest in the nation and the 4th fastest growing in California. With anchor institutions like UCR, Amazon, and Kaiser Permanente alongside emerging industries like cleantech, agtech, and manufacturing/logistics, the county is poised to experience exponential growth in the coming years.
With Silicon Beach just 60 miles east, the county is in an ideal location to take advantage of the proximity to LA’s expanding venture capital scene. Alongside our natural resources in diversity of investable industries and advantages given our vast size, investments in Riverside County is an opportunity in plain sight.
Yet with all of these strong indicators, there is significant disparity in the region with the 3rd highest number of Opportunity Zones in California, signaling above average poverty rates and below median incomes. With only one venture fund and angel group in the region, there is a severe lack of equity capital to advance innovation, growth, and development. Opportunity Riverside aims to be the catalyst addressing this gap.
